Born in La Mancha and graduated in Psychology with postgraduate studies in Cultural Management, Noemí Oliva has great experience in Spanish culture outsourcing. Noemí has been living and developing multidisciplinary artistic projects in different cities like Madrid, Stockholm and Rio de Janeiro where she had the opportunity to specialized in visual arts and contemporary art market. With her focus in contemporary photography and writing, at the present she is the General Manager at Club Matador in Madrid.
Nacida en La Mancha, licenciada en Psicología con posgrado en Gestión Cultural. Con amplia experiencia en la externalización de la cultura española ha vivido y desarrollado proyectos artísticos multidisciplinares en ciudades como Madrid, Estocolmo y Río de Janeiro, donde pudo especializarse en artes visuales y mercado de arte contemporáneo. Con interés focalizado en la escritura y fotografía contemporánea, actualmente ocupa el cargo de Adjunta a la dirección en el Club Matador de Madrid.

Sain Fresh - How do you see the Spanish cultural scene?
Noemí - Spain has always been a nutritive core of creativity and quality cultural production. Despite of the inherent chaos, a lack of communication between the prevailing entities and the unfavorable economic-politic-social situation, there are many survival and emerging proposals in several artistic disciplines that make me so proud. New concept galleries supporting in their emerging artists, festivals with a fast growing development abroad, start ups and a business empowers, foundations... There truly is a great dose of Spanish character in all of them in order to achieve their goals with grace.
Spain Fresh - Which initiatives to outsource our culture do you find interesting?
Noemí - The line between different artistic fields is becoming permeable and loose. On this regard, the artists collectives and the established collaborations between artists, really attrack my attention; the results are unexpected, impressive and enriching. The international artist-in-residence programs are, in my opinion, one of the best formulas to outsource our culture at the moment, they are sincere, honest and humble innitiatives.
Spain Fresh - Tell us about the creative scene in your city.
Noemí - It is a matter of exacerbate the inventiveness, even more. At some point everybody has adapted to a delicated situation with an implicit transformation without loosing their brilliance specially in the creative sector. In Madrid, we are in an effervescent moment, reinventing the formats and visions, something that we will only be able to see when we look back in some years.
Spain Fresh - ¿Cómo ves la escena cultural española?
Noemí - España siempre ha sido un núcleo muy prolijo de creatividad y producción cultural de calidad. A pesar del caos inherente, una predominante falta de comunicación entre las diferentes entidades clave y la situación económico-político-social desfavorable, sobreviven y emergen propuestas en varias disciplinas artísticas que me llenan de orgullo. Nuevas galerías apostando por sus descubrimientos, festivales con crecimiento continuo fuera de España, start ups culturales y aceleradoras, fundaciones... Bien de carácter español para subsistir con gracia.
Spain Fresh - ¿Qué tipo de iniciativas de externalización de nuestra cultura te parecen interesantes?
Noemí - La línea entre diferentes campos artísticos es cada vez más tenue y laxa .En ese sentido me fascinan los colectivos y colaboraciones que se establecen entre artistas produciendo resultados inesperados, singulares y enriquecedores. Los programas internacionales de residencia para artistas me parecen una de las mejores fórmulas de externalización de la cultura en este momento. Un camino más sincero, fiel y menos pomposo.
Spain Fresh - ¿Hablanos del panorama creativo en tu ciudad?
Noemí - Es una cuestión de agudizar el ingenio aún más si cabe. De alguna forma todos nos hemos adaptado a la delicada situación y transformado implícitamente sin perder el brillo, en el ámbito creativo de forma más intensa. En Madrid, nos encontramos en un momento efervescente con otros formatos y visiones que sólo seremos capaces de apreciar cuando miremos atrás en unos años.
