Rosa Barba | De la source au poème

Until March 25 2017, the CAPC Museum in Bordeaux hosts the latest work by the artist Rosa Barba (Agrigento, Italy, 1972). The exhibition, placed in the museum's large nave and in total darkness, presents the last film of this artist based in Berlin, a film that gives title to the exhibition: De la source au poème. In 35mm, the artist enters the largest audiovisual archive in the world, the Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio-Visual Conservation in Culpeper, Virginia, to talk about memory and cultural heritage of Western society of the twentieth century. In addition to the film, the installation Hear, There, Where the Echoes Are is presented, where several synchronized projectors of 16mm and 35mm throw light jets that pass through colored panels and explode against the screens to the rhythm of a battery solo. The perfect synchronization of the projected images with the sound of the battery, is a delight for the senses.

Hasta el 25 de marzo, el museo CAPC de Burdeos acoge el último trabajo de la artista Rosa Barba (Agrigento, Italia, 1972). La muestra, expuesta en la gran Nave del museo y en total penumbra, presenta la última película de artista radicada en Berlín, film que da título a la exposición: De la source au poème. Rodada en 35mm, la artista se adentra en el mayor archivo audiovisual del mundo, el Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio-Visual Conservation en Culpeper, Virginia, para hablar sobre la memoria y la herencia cultural de la sociedad occidental del siglo XX. Además de la película, se presenta la instalación Hear, There, Where the Echoes Are, donde varios proyectores sincronizados de 16mm y 35mm lanzan chorros de luz que atraviesan paneles de colores y estallan contra las pantallas a ritmo de un solo de batería. La perfecta sincronización de las imágenes proyectadas con el sonido de la batería, es un deleite para los sentidos.
