New [post]documentary narratives | Map

Shot along five years, with an almost unexisting budget, Map is the audiovisual diary of Leon Siminiani: of the period when the filmmaker - or videomaker - is unemployed and breaks with his partner, Ainhoa, on which he had already directed the short film Limits, 1st person, an outstanding audiovisual exercise on cinematic language.

Formed in Columbia University, where he already directed the first pieces of his series of short documentaries Key Concepts of the Modern World, Siminiani presents in Map the impudent search of itself, in a trip of personal exploration to India and back to Madrid and his reality.

A film between genre -half documentary, half romantic comedy-, with a funny tone, a very agile rhythm and an affordable neurosis for any spectator in existential crisis. It was nominated for the Goya Awards of the Academy of Cinema and winner of the Award for Best Documentary at the Seville Film Festival.
